The Connolly’s Great Eastern Adventure

We’re sitting at a coffee shop in Charlottetown writing this…Just glanced through the ” Anne of Green Gables” program….Nobody there I know. We’re all just too old. I’m going to try to see it tonight. Just me, the boys aren’t interested in culture. If TSN is on, they’re thrilled!!!

Our trip has been great…We’re all learning a lot. Like, it is REALLY a good idea to figure out WHERE you’re going BEFORE you get there…Riding around Boston in a bit of a rush or driving down a country road in pitch black looking for a cabin with NO MARKINGS is not a good idea.

I could have shopped for hours at the shopping outlet. Mark bought more than me, which is TRAGIC!! I’ve got plans to be back there WITHOUT any males!

The Mira was fantastic!! Lynn and Rodger and Kay and Cliff gave us a great welcome and we had tons of laughs. It was great for the boys to see their Dad the way he was in Fort McMurray (when I met him)…Drinking lots of beer and…..drinking lots of beer.

Patrick’s been really upbeat…Considering he’s 15 and usually sleeps in until 2:00 or 3:00. But when we were driving The Cabot Trail after the Mira, he said about 10 words the whole day..When we stopped to swim he sat on the beach in 30 degrees WITH HIS JEANS ON!!!! That night, A MIRACLE OCCURRED!!! He SPOKE!!! Only to inform me that he’s going to buy an old car and fix it up…in our garage. I decided to pick my battles and this wasn’t going to be one of them.

Jack’s got so much energy and is having a lot of fun. Roger called him “an arsehole” and he took it as an endearment!!!

We had a good ride to the P.E.I. ferry..I didn’t know that we actually had to be at the ferry by 4:00, or I CERTAINLY wouldn’t have made us stop at every QUILTS sign, honest!!!

Can’t seem to find a quilt…Perhaps I’ll have to find one at WINNERS back home and pawn it off as the real thing.

So, after we write this, we’re off to Dynamic Fitness to say Hi to Dave. He’s the gold medal bobsleigh guy who’s also a trainer. I told Mark to wear his black shirt that makes him skinny…Show off the weight loss.

Toodles
